FRIENDSHIP STITCHERS A year-long Stitch Club and Friendship Album Quilt First Class: Friday, January 8, 2027 — 10:00 am to 3:00 pm Classes will meet the 2nd Friday of each month Class Fee: $300 Pattern Fee: $24.00 paid directly to Pam McHenry in first class (cash or check) Teacher: Pam McHenry, Pamalama Jo Designs Email Pam: pamalamajodesigns@gmail.com Questions? Please call Stitched in Schertz at (210) 259-8284 In this class, YOU WILL: Learn about the other “craze” of the 1800’s! While Baltimore Album quilts were big with the wealthy, friendship album quilts were all the rage for everyone. Pam will share quilting and fabric history as we work on our projects. Practice and grow proficient in hand stitching: needle-turn appliqué (back-basting method), hand-piecing, EPP (English paper piecing; think “hexies”), embroidery, hand quilting and more. Get an exclusive block pattern every month designed by Pam McHenry just for this class! You will also learn how to design your own blocks and be invited to share them with other class members. Blocks will be finished at 12” x 12”. Focus on YOUR preferences and creativity as you choose your fabrics and block details. Your own fabric stash is welcome at Friendship Stitchers. A starter kit of fabrics will be available from the shop (to use for the first few blocks), but is not required. You will get the following FREE OF CHARGE during classes: 1. Practice materials (prepared by Pam) to get started on new skills 2. Hand-outs on history, terminology, and directions 3. Gridded tag paper needed for hand piecing templates Supplies Needed for Class 1. Basic sewing kit: variety of needles, threads, threader, thimble, pin cushion, etc. 2. Two scissors: (1) small, pointed, serrated to the tip scissors and (2) medium, sharp shears for cutting out fabric, etc. 3. Fabric marking pencils or erasable markers 4. Background block fabric: approximately 2 1/2 yards needed for whole class. This can be a single fabric, or scrappy collection of backgrounds. 5. Other fabrics as needed 6. Recommended: a light board for pattern tracing and fabric placement on blocks. 7. Other notions may be needed as we progress, such as hexie papers for EPP. All materials will be available at Stitched in Schertz NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES ON THIS TUITION. THIS FEE DOES NOT INCLUDE PATTERNS OR SUPPLIES.
